Across Fujitsu Global Delivery Unit (GDU), we drive meaningful change in our communities and in our workplaces. We do this through creative initiatives in education, employee well-being, and responsible governance – which you’ll read about in the articles below.

The Fujitsu Futures program exemplifies innovation by equipping over 2,500 learners worldwide with skills for the future. Delivered by employee volunteers, the program’s expanding curriculum, including new courses on cybersecurity and sustainability, prepares learners of all ages and backgrounds to thrive in a digital society.

Internally, GDU builds a positive, inclusive work culture centred on well-being, diversity, and continuous learning. 78% of our employees reported positive well-being in our annual employee survey. Our commitment to mental health, flexible work, and DEI efforts empowers both individuals and teams across the business.

On the governance front, Fujitsu ensures ethical operations through robust compliance frameworks and global health and safety initiatives. As a global leader in artificial intelligence (AI), we champion a human-centric, trusted approach to technology that is backed by strong ethics and governance structures.

Together, these efforts reflect Fujitsu’s commitment to building a digitally-inclusive and ethically-sound future for our people, our partners, and for society.

We are committed to a positive, inclusive work environment where every employee feels valued, supported, and empowered. This commitment is reflected in our approach to the following 3 areas:

1. Well-being

We prioritize employee well-being through comprehensive health and wellness programs, flexible working options, mental health support, and initiatives that promote work-life balance.

Employees globally dedicated an average of 2.5 hours annually to curated sessions on mental health, nutrition, resilience, and mindfulness. Our annual engagement survey revealed that 78% of employees rated their well-being positively, which is above the industry benchmark, and expressed optimism about their future well-being.

2. Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI)

DEI is fundamentally important for Fujitsu Global Delivery Unit. We promote DEI in hiring and leadership, through creating an inclusive environment where diverse perspectives are celebrated. Employee Resource Groups have been expanded, actively hosting panel discussions, allyship initiatives, and tech talks, creating more opportunities for voices to be heard and celebrated. Inclusive forums created opportunities for cross-cultural collaboration and dialogue on topics like neurodiversity, generational inclusion, and belonging.

We achieved 27% female representation in our leadership roles, marking a significant milestone in advancing gender equity.

3. Skills development

We invest in skills development, offering training programs and resources for career growth.  Our focus on employee well-being has helped sustain high engagement and reduced burnout and absenteeism, creating the psychological safety necessary for ongoing skill development and professional growth.

Inclusive mentorship programs, aligned with DEI principles, connect employees with experienced leaders across geographies.

From technical skills to leadership development, we empower employees to grow and learn. We focus our effort on nurturing a culture where employees feel valued, heard, and equipped for the future.

Fujitsu is committed to positively influencing the communities around us. Education is a sustained and far-reaching tool to do so, and Fujitsu commits to building long-term partnerships with schools and educational and community institutions to have positive impacts on our communities. Fujitsu Global Delivery Unit has an educational outreach program called Fujitsu Futures, which aims to bridge the existing gap between the current competencies and the more and more demanding skillset required for the digital future.

This flagship program allows our employee volunteers to share their expertise in technical subjects such as digital rights, safety and wellness, but also their soft skills covering critical thinking, effective communication and emotional intelligence. This enables the beneficiaries to become more future resilient, as Fujitsu Futures classes prepare the learners of today to thrive in a digital future.

We have a set of 9 courses, building skills of good communication, creativity, and business culture awareness. We added 3 new courses in 2024 covering hardware knowledge, cybersecurity awareness, and the UN Sustainable Development Goals. The entire program is designed to be adapted for different ages, cultural backgrounds and proficiency levels. During the past 12 months, more than 2,500 people were beneficiaries of 40 Fujitsu Futures classes delivered by our volunteers. This was not only across the 8 countries where Fujitsu Global Delivery Unit operates, but also in São Tomé and Príncipe, in Türkiye, and in Cambodia.

Our focus for the future is understanding the ever-growing requirements of our communities with the creation of new lesson plans covering “Data and Communication” and “Creativity, Problem Solving and Resilience”. We continue to work with our community partners to understand their needs, and with education experts to ensure that we are delivering effective learning outcomes.

Fujitsu maintains a strong governance framework with clear compliance guidelines. We promote a culture of ethical behaviour, legal compliance, and continuous improvement in all aspects of our work.

Fujitsu Group has established a Group-wide Health and Safety Policy to safeguard a safe, pleasant working environment and create a workplace culture to ensure the health and safety of our employees. You can read more information on that Policy and our approaches here. The health and safety of Fujitsu’s employees is one of the most important management topics, and it is given the highest priority in all of Fujitsu’s business activities.

Every year, we commemorate the International Labour Organization’s World Day for Safety and Health at Work, through awareness-raising activities on employee occupational safety and health at a global scale.

As a technology company, we are also working at the forefront of AI. We recognise that AI must be safe, secure, and trustworthy to maximize its value for the benefit of society. At Fujitsu, we have been advocating for the human-centric perspective for over 10 years, to build trust in society about the safe and responsible use of AI. We have an AI Commitment as well as an AI Ethics and Governance Office to ensure that our commitment to responsible use of AI is embedded at all levels throughout the business.
